Intensive English Program

The Intensive English Program (IEP) is designed for international students or local students who need to improve their English language proficiency before undertaking an academic program of study. Students in the IEP will take a combination of English as a second language (ESL) classes appropriate to their level in such areas as grammar, reading, vocabulary development, conversation, listening, pronunciation practice, and composition skills. In addition, students will be scheduled for sessions in the learning assistance center, the computer lab, and the language lab. Altogether, IEP students will be busy studying English for 20-25 hours per week.

IEP admission requirements are similar to academic programs and are open to any student who has finished high school, who has at least an intermediate command of English, and who wants to prepare for a college-level academic program. Students applying from outside the United States will have to qualify for an F-1 student visa in order to be allowed to enter the USA to study.

Join the students from all over the world who have found helpful people and outstanding facilities for learning at Glendale Community College. As always, the International Students Center is ready to help you accomplish your educational goals and reach your personal potential.
